    11th October

The children cooked up many culinary Thanksgiving delights with their imaginations today using the teas set to serve orange peas, over-sized donuts and waffles to seated guests.  If one was not involved in the meal preparation, one was certainly busy preparing table decorations – pinecone and feather turkeys to take home for Thanksgiving decorations.  Our story today was an interactive version of Stone Soup.  The children shared the potatoes, carrots, onions, celery and condiments of which they had been given charge to help make a wonderful, delicious (pretend) soup which the children ladled out for the parents. Afterwards we put our sharing into practice and helped to gather the non-perishable food items that the caregivers had brought to share with people in our community in need at the Human Exchange (humanx.org).
