The parishes of St. Chad's, its first service taking place on Sept. 11th, 1955, and St. Richard's, first service on Oct. 25th, 1959, were both mission off-shoots of St.Luke's Anglican Church, created to serve Anglicans in the Gordon Head area. Both parishes proved to be too small for economical administration, and in 1963 the Diocese amalgamated the two churches. In August St. Chad's closed, and all services were held at St. Richard's from September 1st, which coincided with the appointment of Archdeacon Hendy as the rector of the newly founded St. Dunstan's.
Over 40 years later, St. Dunstan's is still a vital, growing part of our community with many activities and resources that serve a wide variety of needs.
